An absolutely stunning day for a marquee wedding reception and Odiham is the ideal Hampshire village. There is something special about a wedding day when it has been “home grown”.

Kate and Luke were married in the quaint  All Saints Church set on the south side of a small village square .The reception was a stones throw away at the local Odiham and  Greywell cricket ground. Guests were transported between the two in a great bull nose 1950′s coach that looked fantastic.

Kate and Luke were kind enough to deposit some cash behind the bar for us ‘next door at the George’ they said but it isn’t next door, it’s called ‘Next Door at the George‘right in the centre of Odiham and the food was great …. thanks !!

Cath Kidston inspired the theme for the decorations inside the marquee. It was clear that someone had spent a lot of time and effort making sure everything was perfect for the special day even the bunting was hand stitched. By late afternoon the sun was starting to cast long April shadows over the well kept cricket square and off to the north, the village of Odiham stood out in silhouette and it was time for pudding !!!   While the main party had been enjoying their starters and main course the split screen ice cream company van had made its way onto the cricket ground and parked outside ready and waiting to serve “99′s” for dessert.

After some easy time finishing off ice cream and the remainder of the champagne cocktails Kate’s brother, Toast Master for the day, called all to order for the speeches and traditional toasts. The cake was duly cut and sampled and suddenly the formal part of the celebrations were over and it was time to kick of your shoes let your hair down and dance the night away.

‘It must be love’ by Madness (a first time first dance number for The Redfords) set the evening off to a non stop frenzy of groovin ! The music was interspersed by solo performances by Ian, the brides father, who sang ’Cant help falling in Love with you’ by Elvis and the best man who performed a raunchy version of ‘Mustang Sally’. By 23:30 it was all over bar the shouting and goodbyes. Luke took great delight in kissing absolutely everyone before taking Kate away to start their well earned honeymoon and the rest of their lives!!.

It’s always a pleasure to be a part of someone’s special day and today was no exception. We enjoyed entertaining Kate, Luke and their respective families and friends and would like to wish them health and happiness for their future together.
