Jenna and Christopher, Mitton Hall, Lancashire, Wedding band
Mitton Hall is an absolute great venue to play I just wish it was a bit nearer to London.. It is set in the Ribble Valley the largest district in Lancashire in terms of area, the majority of which is designated as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Here you will find velvet green valleys, commanding fells and heather strewn moorland among the breath-taking scenery of picturesque countryside. Its two market towns, Clitheroe and Longridge nestle perfectly among serene and unspoilt landscapes.
The close by Forest of Bowland offers some of the most remote and rugged walking in the North West, including the Tolkien Trail, which takes you in the footsteps of J.R.R Tolkien. The Pendle Witch Trail follows the route taken by the witches from their Pendleside villages passing through some of the most spectacular scenery in the country.
This luxurious hotel with it’s unique mix of Tudor paneling, galleried hall and deep set fire places decorated in an Art deco style with fine chrome statues of very fashionable quality and glittering chandlers is an ideal setting for a picture book wedding.
Christopher and Jenna took full advantage of this setting for their wedding pictures by Jonny Draper
Someone had taken a great deal of time creating a focal point for cards and wedding gifts by producing a beautiful display of flowers and mounted photographs.
The wedding breakfast began at 16:00 and by 18:30 was winding up allowing us plenty of time to set up while guests enjoyed an early evening drink in the warm spring sunshine bathing the conservatory and veranda to the rear of the hotel.
At 20:30 a drum roll drew guests to the dance floor for the cutting of the cake and start of the evening celebrations. Their choice for their first dance together as husband and wife was ‘At Last’ by Etta James. The Redfords are happy to perform any reasonable choice of first dance and this one was a pleasure to perform.
By 21.30 guest were more than ready to tuck into the evening buffet traditionally hot bacon rolls at Mitton Hall … There is something about the aroma of freshly cooked bacon rolls that tempts the taste buds… They where delightful!!
The last two dance sets were a pretty up tempo to the delight of several of the male guest and we were happy to perform a couple of request.
We throughly enjoyed our time in Lancashire and were privileged to be part of Jenna and Christoper’s special day. We wish them all the best for the future.
