If we could choose a venue as our home ground then Turkey Mill would be right up there with the best ….. fantastic all weather facilities for civil ceremony, plenty of opportunities for bridal photography, an excellent dining room that takes full advantage of its south facing elevations and the room is ideal for the band and dancing.

Nicola’s entrance for her marriage to Paul was made via the mill gardens and foot bridge spanning the lake before processing up through the ornamental gardens to the orangery. They were married at 14.00 in the presence of the family and friends. Following the ceremony they retired to the terrace for a champagne reception where The Redfords acoustic Trio entertained guests..

The couples wedding breakfast was served at 16.00 at which point the we made a very discreet exit to the Oak on the Green for something to eat. in fact the exit was so discreet that staff at Turkey Mill had to call to check where we were as they had prepared food for us … never mind we will remember next time!!

The evening celebrations began at 20.00 with the cutting of the cake followed by their first dance Ribbons in the Sky for your love by Stevie Wonder. Nicola had requested three sets of an hour each with 30 min breaks between. The evening was hot and sticky we had thought that most of the guests would have taken advantage of the relatively cooler terrace but no the dancing was fast and furious and the atmosphere electric. We didn’t even pause for the tossing of the bouquet which took place during our Valerie/ Single Ladies mix.
