Kent wedding photographer
It's a pleasure to work with this Kent wedding photographer. If you want an inspirational natural unposed style, we thoroughly recommend Olly Knight. Olly photographs weddings in his county of Kent, London, the UK and overseas as a destination wedding photographer.
From Olly
I photograph weddings in a natural, unposed and documentary style. I never ask anyone to look at the camera or to “say cheese”. I just photograph the moments that will mean the most to the Bride and Groom. I love my job, although it never feels like a job. I started in 2011 offering to photograph a friend’s wedding and since then I’ve photographed over 250 weddings. I never get bored of weddings as each one has been wonderfully creative with different people to meet and different personalities to document. I feel privileged to have got to know and have become friends with so many lovely couples and have picked up a few awards for my work along the way too.
What is documentary wedding photography
Well it’s all about capturing the real moments and honest emotions in a non-obtrusive way. Weddings are fantastic to photograph as they are great celebrations where laughter and tears are never far away. When I photograph weddings I’m warm, friendly and relaxed. I wont be shouting at anyone to be anywhere, I’ll just be following what actually happens. The couples that I work for tend to be fun, creative and relaxed couples who want the moments and the atmosphere of their big day captured without having to stand around for hours as if they are at a photo shoot! After weddings the Bride and Groom say that this Kent wedding photographer blended in and it was like having another friend at the wedding but with a camera.
Working with the Redfords
I first shot a wedding with the Redfords in 2016 and I loved their energy, the way that they were friendly and chatty to me and the guests and the sound they create was so good too. I don't think I've known a wedding where they've played where the dance floor has been deserted. They're really good at getting things going and creating a great vibe for the evening celebrations. As a musician myself I can really tell when bands are good, tight and love what they do. These guys tick all those boxes. I think The Redfords' USP is that they can provide an acoustic stripped back duo during the day and then bring the whole band to the evening. That's a really good thing to have at your wedding if you're into music and want to create a good afternoon and evening atmosphere. I look forward to each wedding that I get to shoot with this band!
