Typical wedding party
Are you looking to have a great party to end your perfect wedding day? Well, what better way than to have a live band. However it has to be right band.
Firstly the band should already be set up and waiting before the guests arrive. As a result their first impression is a wow factor and likewise their expectations of having a great evening are high.
Secondly the party and dancing would begin with the traditional first dance after that perhaps a father daughter dance. We have found the best time to start the informal part of your day is after the evening guests have arrived and settled in. for example say between 8.00 and 9 pm. Moreover don’t forget in summer the evenings are generally warm and still light therefore starting a little later is fine.
‘Looking the part’ is very important for the band. Therefore at a wedding the band members always dress formally in dinner suits because above all we must respect the significance of the ocasion. The stage will be laid out with a back drop, carpet and extensive and effective lighting which consequently set the mood and atmosphere for what will undoubtedly be a great night.
The live wedding band will always like to play the first and father and daughter dance themselves because it is a great way to start the evening off and therefore give the bride and groom lasting memories of their special personal songs. Meanwhile after the start of the first dances guests will want to join the happy couple on the dance floor. This normally and naturally signals that the formal part of the day is behind them and as a result the party is about to start in earnest. (please ask about special requests)
Our first wedding set can be either full on so everyone is straight into the party mood or on the other hand you can be eased inwith so old slower favorites for nans, grandads, aunts, uncles and mums and dads to enjoy. Of course, it always depends on the mood of the guests and above all the wishes of the bride and groom because after all it is your party. We certainly don’t want to compete with your guests when they are having their evening buffet, therefore we like to end the first live set and the start of the DJ set with the commencement of the food.
Your guests, now fully fed and watered are ready for the rest of night, so therefore what better time to introduce our famous party hats, masks and props. It might seem a bit cheesy at first but it certainly is an ice breaker with the children and sometimes the bride who are the first to let their hair down. It is always great fun. Meanwhile people will have gone to get their smart phones beacuse they will want to take selfies and catch the moment. This is when our photographer comes into his own. During this time he knows what’s in the box and consequently will be able to capture all the best shots, when you and your guests are least likely to know you are being photographed.
With the second DJ set out of the way it’s time to clear the decks because the third and final set will herald the finale. By now everyone is relaxed and wanting to really dance the night away (not that they haven’t already done so by now). During this set the band will generally play all the singalong and shoutalong classics that will bring stragglers rushing in from the bar to prove they know all the words and all the right moves. Most importantly as we approach midnight the bride and groom will become the focus of attention. The night will end on a big crescendo giving guests a final chance to wish the happy couple love and best wishes for the future and the opportunity for our photographer to get a last documentary photos.
